FAQ
Straight answers.
- How much does 3D printing cost in Australia?
- At RBZ 3D pricing is calculated instantly from your model: material weight plus machine time, with a $15 minimum per job. A palm-sized functional part in PLA typically lands between $20 and $50. Upload your STL, OBJ, or 3MF file to see the exact price before you pay — no email or signup required.
- What file formats can I upload for a 3D printing quote?
- STL, OBJ, and 3MF files up to 200MB. The model is measured in your browser and priced on the spot. If you only have a drawing, sketch, or photo, use the Quick Quote form instead and we will quote it within 24 hours.
- What materials do you print in?
- PLA, PETG, and ASA in a range of colours. PLA suits indoor parts and prototypes. PETG handles heat to about 80°C and is tougher. ASA is the pick for outdoor, UV-exposed, or vehicle parts — it will not chalk in the Queensland sun or soften in a hot car. The quote tool recommends a material once you tell it where the part will live.
- What is the maximum print size?
- Up to 300mm in any direction as a single piece. Larger parts can often be printed in sections and joined — send the model through Quick Quote and we will advise.
- How long does 3D printing take?
- Production typically starts the same day and orders ship the same week with tracking. Townsville and North Queensland orders usually arrive within 1-3 business days of dispatch, interstate within 3-7.
- Can I order just one part?
- Yes. There is no minimum order and no setup fee beyond machine time — single prototypes, one-off replacement parts, and small repair pieces are welcome.
