What customers are saying
See all →“As soon as I had put my order in, Josh was on the phone to me to adjust a few things to make sure it was 100% right. Couldn’t ask for better service and transparency from designing all the way to picking up the labels.”
“Fantastic quality and even better turn around time. 10/10!! The designer on the website was SUPER intuitive to use and made the whole design process so much easier and they turned up exactly as I had designed on the computer. Was delivered from QLD to VIC in only 5 days even with 10+ small labels. Josh even chucked in an extra label because one of the designs got muddled All this for only $42, bloody brilliant!! This will now be the only place I buy labels and 3d prints from.”
The price formula
What actually sets the price.
Size
The biggest factor by far. Price scales with the material area — a 40 × 12 mm circuit ID uses a fraction of the laminate of a 300 × 100 mm sign, and costs a fraction as much.
Quantity
Volume discounts apply automatically from around 10 labels and keep improving with quantity. On bulk orders, mixed designs ordered together count toward the same volume pricing.
Detail & cutouts
Standard text costs nothing extra. Engraved cutouts, very small text, and dense fine detail add a surcharge because they take longer on the laser.
Material & thickness
Standard 2-ply laminate is the baseline. Thicker 3-ply, brushed metal-look, and special colours cost slightly more per square centimetre.
What never costs extra
No setup fees. No artwork fees. No minimum order. No charge for choosing a shape — rectangles, rounded corners, circles, ovals, and tombstones all price the same for the same area.
Spend less
Four ways to bring the per-label price down.
- 1.Order the job together. Volume pricing counts the whole order, so adding next month's labels to this month's run is cheaper than two separate orders.
- 2.Right-size the label. A circuit ID does not need to be 100 mm wide. Sizing labels to the text keeps material cost down.
- 3.Stick to standard laminate. The standard 2-ply colours cover every AS/NZS switchboard convention and are the cheapest option.
- 4.Send big lists as one quote. For schedules of 50+ labels, the Quick Quote form gets you trade pricing on the whole schedule.
Versus a quote-only engraver
Most engraving shops price per job: you email a list, wait for a quote, and pay minimum order fees on small runs. RBZ 3D prices per label, instantly, with no minimum — the online designer shows the price as you type.
Every label is engraved to order in Townsville, Queensland by a licensed electrician, with 1–3 business day production and tracked shipping Australia-wide.
Common questions
Quick answers.
How much does a traffolyte label cost in Australia?
A small switchboard circuit ID label starts around $3.94, a standard 100 × 50 mm main switch label costs around $8.06, and larger safety signs run higher. Price is driven mostly by size — quantity discounts bring the per-label cost down from 10 labels and up.
Is there a minimum order or setup fee?
No. Order a single label or a thousand — there is no minimum order quantity and no artwork or setup fee. The price you see in the online designer is the price you pay.
How do quantity discounts work?
Discounts apply automatically as quantity increases — you see the per-label price drop live in the designer. Identical and mixed labels ordered together both count toward volume pricing on bulk orders.
What makes a label cost more?
Size is the biggest factor. Beyond that: engraved cutouts, very small text that needs fine detail, thicker 3-ply material, and special colours or brushed metal-look laminates can add to the price. Standard rectangles with standard text are the cheapest.
How does this compare to a traditional engraving shop?
Traditional engravers usually quote per job, often with minimum order fees, artwork charges, and a wait for the quote itself. Because our pricing is calculated by the same engine that drives the online designer, you get the exact price instantly — and no minimum means one-off labels stay affordable.
Does the price include shipping?
Shipping is calculated at checkout based on the order — labels are light, so standard tracked post is inexpensive. Production takes 1–3 business days before dispatch from Townsville, QLD.
