What we can and can't do from here.
RBZ 3D is a one-person engraving workshop in Townsville, North Queensland. There is no New Zealand branch, no local agent, and no stock sitting in Auckland. Every label is cut on the laser here and then freighted across.
That means the online checkout — with its instant pricing, Australian postage, and Australian GST — is set up for Australian orders only. Rather than pretend otherwise, New Zealand orders go through a quote: you send the label list and the delivery address, we price the engraving and get a real freight cost, and you decide from there.
It's a slower path than clicking checkout, and we're not going to dress it up. It works well for a board's worth of labels or a panel job where one consignment covers the lot. For two circuit labels it will probably cost you more in freight than engraving, and a local engraver is the better answer — we'd rather say that now than after you've paid.

Half a quote request usually turns into three emails and a week lost. If the list below is in your first message, the reply that comes back is a price rather than a question.
- The text, exactly as it should read
- One line per label — a typed list, a spreadsheet, a circuit schedule, or a photo of the board with the wording marked up. Spelling and capitals are engraved as supplied, so send it the way you want it to read.
- Size and quantity
- Millimetres if you know them (30×12mm and 50×20mm are the common circuit-ID sizes), or tell us what it has to fit and we'll suggest a size. Quantity per line, plus any spares.
- Colour
- Black on white, white on black, white on red, black on yellow, white on green. If you're matching labels already on the board, a photo is the fastest way to get it right.
- Fixing
- Self-adhesive backing, or screw holes — and if screw holes, the hole centres and diameter.
- Your delivery address in New Zealand
- Full street address with the postcode. Freight is quoted per consignment against the real address, so a suburb name alone isn't enough to price it.
- When you need it
- A real date if there's a shutdown, handover, or inspection driving it. If a date isn't achievable with international freight we'll say so up front rather than take the order.

Standards framing
Straight about what a label can claim.
AS/NZS 3000 clause 2.8 asks that switchboard labelling be permanent, legible for the life of the installation, and clear about which circuit and equipment each label identifies. Engraved traffolyte meets the durability and permanence requirements of that clause, because the text is cut into the material rather than printed onto it — there is no ink to fade and no film to lift.
What we will not tell you
- ·That the material is “certified” or “approved”. There is no certification scheme for engraving laminate and no inspector approval scheme for labels. A supplier using those words is selling you a word.
- ·That a label makes an installation compliant. Compliance is the installation, the documentation and the person who signed it — a label is one durable part of that.
- ·What your board should say. Josh holds an electrical licence and is happy to talk it through, but the wording call belongs to whoever is responsible for the job.

Do you ship to New Zealand?
Yes, but not through the online checkout. The checkout and the instant-pricing designer are set up for Australian orders only. New Zealand orders are quoted by email instead — send your label list through the Quick Quote form and we'll come back with the engraving cost and a freight price to your address.
Where are the labels actually made?
In Townsville, North Queensland, Australia. RBZ 3D is a one-person workshop run by a licensed electrician — every label is engraved here and then shipped. There is no New Zealand branch, agent, or local stock.
What currency will I be quoted in?
Australian dollars. Every price on this site is AUD, and New Zealand quotes are AUD too. Your bank or card issuer handles the conversion at whatever rate applies on the day — we don't quote NZD and don't set the exchange rate.
How long does it take to get labels to New Zealand?
Engraving is typically 1–3 business days once the artwork is confirmed. International freight time is on top of that and depends on the carrier and service you choose — we quote the freight options we can actually get to your address rather than promising a delivery date we don't control. Australian domestic turnaround figures quoted elsewhere on this site do not apply to New Zealand.
Are there duties or GST on top?
Our quote covers engraving and freight only. Anything New Zealand Customs applies on arrival — GST, duty, or a broker's fee — is separate and is not included in what we quote. If that matters to your budget, check with NZ Customs or your freight forwarder before ordering.
Do the labels meet New Zealand requirements?
We engrave to the text, size, and colours you specify — you own the specification. AS/NZS 3000 is published jointly for Australia and New Zealand, so the labelling conventions will look familiar, but we don't give compliance advice for New Zealand installations. Confirm your own requirements with your inspector or the relevant regulations before ordering.
Can I use the online designer to work out pricing?
Yes — design your labels in the label designer to see the AUD engraving price per label and get the sizing right. Then, instead of checking out, send the same details through the Quick Quote form so we can add freight to New Zealand. The designer price is engraving only.
How quickly will I get a reply?
Within one business day, Australian Eastern time. New Zealand is 2–3 hours ahead of Queensland depending on daylight saving, so a request sent late in your afternoon is usually answered the following morning your time.
