Easiest way I have found to get labels made. Very reasonable pricing and delivered in under a week. Definitely be using them in the future.

Been looking for a very long time to get professional labels made for my hotrod and could never find anything. Found RBZ 3D online and got exactly what I wanted. Super fast turnaround and fantastic quality. Very happy with everything. Highly recommend.

Engraved main switch grid supply label on white traffolyte

Why engraved

The label outlives the board.

AS/NZS 3000 clause 2.8 asks for three things: permanent, legible, and clear identification of every circuit. A printed sticker manages that for a few summers. Engraved traffolyte manages it for the life of the installation — the text is the material, not ink on top of it.

RBZ 3D is run by a qualified electrician, so the labels are made the way an inspector wants to find them: standard colours, sensible sizing, engraved deep enough to stay readable in a meter box that cops western sun.

  • ·Permanent engraving — never fades, peels, or rubs off
  • ·UV stable for outdoor meter boxes and switch rooms
  • ·Adhesive backing or screw holes — your choice
  • ·Standard colour conventions built into the designer

Every label on the board

From the main switch down.

Circuit ID labels

Lights, power, oven, A/C, hot water — every breaker labelled so the next sparky (or the homeowner at midnight) finds the right circuit first go. Standard 30×12mm to 50×20mm.

Main switch labels

MAIN SWITCH, main switch grid supply, main switch inverter supply. White-on-red where the board demands attention, engraved so it never fades.

Multiple supplies warnings

Solar, generator, and battery installations need yellow multiple-supplies warnings at the board. Engraved yellow/black traffolyte is the inspector-accepted standard.

RCD and test labels

RCD test reminders and safety switch identification to AS/NZS 3760 — engraved, not stickers that peel off the inside of the door.

Board schedules & door signs

Distribution board IDs (DB-01, MSB, sub-board references), shutdown procedures, and danger signs for plant rooms and switch rooms.

Whole-board label sets

Send the schedule as a list — the bulk tool prices every label at once, and each arrives engraved, sorted, and labelled by circuit.

Common questions

Quick answers.

What does AS/NZS 3000 require for switchboard labelling?

Clause 2.8 of the Wiring Rules requires switchboard labels to be permanent, legible for the life of the installation, and to clearly identify each circuit and the equipment it controls. Engraved traffolyte meets all three requirements — the text is carved into the material, so it cannot fade, peel, or rub off like printed stickers.

What size should switchboard labels be?

Circuit ID labels are commonly 30×12mm to 50×20mm depending on how much text you need. Main switch labels are usually larger — 50×20mm to 100×50mm — so they stand out. The designer shows you the label at true scale, and any custom size is the same price formula.

What colours do Australian switchboards use?

Black-on-white or white-on-black for general circuit ID, white-on-red for main switches and danger, black-on-yellow for multiple supplies and PV warnings, white-on-green for safe condition. Following the conventions keeps the meaning instant for anyone at the board.

How do I order labels for a whole switchboard?

Use the bulk tool in the label designer — paste or type your circuit schedule one row per label, and every label is priced instantly. One label or two hundred, same engraving, same turnaround.

Are engraved labels better than printed sticker labels?

For switchboards, yes. Printed and vinyl labels fade with UV and heat, and adhesive lets go over time — common reasons boards fail inspection years later. Engraved traffolyte is permanent by construction: the contrast is the material itself.

How fast can you ship switchboard labels?

Production is typically 1–3 business days from order. Townsville and North Queensland orders usually land 1–3 days after dispatch, interstate 3–7 — all tracked.
