What customers are saying

As soon as I had put my order in, Josh was on the phone to me to adjust a few things to make sure it was 100% right. Couldn’t ask for better service and transparency from designing all the way to picking up the labels.

Who we work with

Trade. OEM. Mining. Manufacturing.

Switchboard manufacturers

Circuit IDs, RCD plates, main switch labels, and full board schedules. Consistent quality across runs of hundreds of panels — same engraving depth, same sizing, every batch.

Mining & resources

Durable identification labels for harsh environments. UV-stable traffolyte that handles dust, heat, vibration, and chemical exposure. Tags for pumps, motors, isolation points, and asset registers.

Electrical contractors

Ongoing trade work — full-board jobs, sub-main labels, retrofit identification, replacement labels for legacy boards. Account terms and subscription pricing for active trade customers.

OEM control panels

Pushbutton plates, selector labels, motor starter ID, PLC I/O, motor nameplates. Engraved cutouts where needed. Drawing-driven production from your CAD or layout files.

Solar installers

DC/AC isolator labels, multiple-supplies warnings, shutdown procedures, PV array tags — meeting CER and CEC labelling requirements. Bulk priced for installer workflows.

Replacement & legacy

Damaged, faded, or missing labels on old equipment? Send photos and we'll match the original — size, text, layout, font. Particularly useful where original drawings are gone.

Trade pricing

Three ways to buy.

One-off bulk

Pay per order. Volume pricing from 50 labels. Use when the job is once-off — a single switchboard manufacturing run, a mining shutdown labelling refresh, an OEM batch.

Trade account

30-day terms for established trade and commercial accounts. Order through the quick-quote system, invoiced monthly, paid against statement. For contractors who order regularly.

Subscription

Monthly label credits at a fixed cost. Most economical for active trade workflows — credits roll into design tools, full team access, no per-label haggling.

Standards framing

Straight about what a label can claim.

AS/NZS 3000 clause 2.8 asks that switchboard labelling be permanent, legible for the life of the installation, and clear about which circuit and equipment each label identifies. Engraved traffolyte meets the durability and permanence requirements of that clause, because the text is cut into the material rather than printed onto it — there is no ink to fade and no film to lift.

Solar and battery — the one place testing is required

Solar goes further than AS/NZS 3000. The Clean Energy Council’s Advice on Labelling (Version 2, June 2023) requires any label exposed to direct sunlight to be UV resistant, demonstrated by passing IEC 60068-2-5:2018 — a 720-hour accelerated weathering test.

Section 3.1.1 of that document carries an exception: it does not apply to markings that are physically engraved, embossed or etched with durable markings. Engraving is exempt because the marking is the material — there is no printed surface to fade.

The practical difference: a printed or vinyl label in direct sun needs that test report to show it meets the requirement. An engraved one doesn’t. If your supplier can’t produce the report, you can’t demonstrate the label complies.

What we will not tell you

  • ·That the material is “certified” or “approved”. There is no certification scheme for engraving laminate and no inspector approval scheme for labels. A supplier using those words is selling you a word.
  • ·That a label makes an installation compliant. Compliance is the installation, the documentation and the person who signed it — a label is one durable part of that.
  • ·What your board should say. Josh holds an electrical licence and is happy to talk it through, but the wording call belongs to whoever is responsible for the job.

Common questions

Quick answers.

What's the minimum order for industrial / bulk pricing?

Volume pricing kicks in from 50 labels in a single order. For ongoing trade and OEM work, subscription plans bring per-label cost down further with monthly credit allocations and account terms.

Can you handle a full switchboard manufacturing run?

Yes. Send a CSV, schedule, or layout file via Quick Quote and we'll engrave the full set with consistent sizing and engraving depth across the run. Typical lead time on bulk runs is 5–10 business days depending on size.

Do you offer account terms for trade and commercial customers?

Yes — 30-day account terms are available for established trade and commercial accounts. Apply through the Quick Quote form or call Josh directly.

Can you replicate damaged or faded existing labels?

Yes. Send photos of the damaged or faded originals. We'll match the size, text, layout, font, and colours to produce exact replacements — particularly useful for legacy equipment where the original drawings are gone.

What materials do you stock?

Standard stock is engraving laminate (traffolyte) in all common colour combinations — black/white, white/black, red/white, yellow/black, blue/white, green/white. Brushed metal-look laminates and special colours available on request.

How fast can you ship to mining or remote sites?

Engraved in Townsville and dispatched same week. Most QLD and northern NSW regional sites land in 1–3 business days; mining and remote WA/SA sites typically 5–7 days with tracked freight.

Bulk quote

Send the schedule.

CSV, drawing, photo, list — whatever you have. We'll quote the lot and confirm a lead time within one business day.

Production is 1–3 business days once the artwork is confirmed, then postage on top. StarTrack Premium is $35 and reaches most places in 1–2 business days. If you are working to a hard deadline, tell us the date and we will say honestly whether it is doable.
