Why stainless

Built for the places traffolyte was not designed for.

Traffolyte covers most switchboards, control panels, and indoor equipment. Stainless is for the harsher spots — outdoor plant exposed to full sun, coastal sites with salt air, and washdown areas that get hosed out regularly. A metal tag suits those environments better than a laminate one.

Corrosion resistant

Stainless steel holds up where salt air and moisture would attack ordinary metal fittings.

Does not fade

The mark is engraved into the surface, not printed on top — full sun and UV exposure will not bleach it out.

Suits harsh environments

Outdoor plant, coastal installations, and wash-down areas are exactly what a stainless tag is for.

Industrial-grade presentation

A metal tag reads as a permanent fixture, not a consumable label — useful anywhere first impressions matter.

Planned options

Finish and mounting, planned at launch.

Not orderable today — these are the options we are planning to offer once stainless launches.

Finish

No.4 brushed

A satin, directional-grain finish — the standard look for stainless equipment tags and nameplates. The laser mark reads as a dark, permanent contrast against the brushed surface.

Mounting options

Pre-drilled mounting holes

Corner holes sized to suit self-tapping screws or rivets.

Adhesive backing

Self-adhesive for a fast, screw-free fix.

Rounded corners

A softened edge instead of the standard square-cut corner.

Common questions

Quick answers.

When are stainless steel labels launching?

There is no launch date yet — we are gauging demand before committing to the range. Register your interest below and you will be the first to know the moment it launches, with real launch pricing, not the indicative figures on this page.

What material and marking process will you use?

316 stainless steel, laser-engraved — a dark, permanent mark in the surface itself, not printed on top. Labels will come in a satin No.4 brushed finish — the standard look for stainless equipment tags.

How will pricing work?

The table above shows indicative launch pricing per label — it is a guide, not a live quote, and is subject to change before launch. As with our traffolyte labels, we expect volume pricing to apply from 10 labels, and no minimum order.

Can I get a custom size?

Yes — at launch you will be able to specify a custom size the same way you can with our traffolyte range today. Register your interest and tell us the size you need in the meantime, and we will factor it into the range.

Will you do stainless steel cable tags?

Yes — engraved 316 cable tags are planned as part of the range, priced per tag in volume (from around $2.50 each at 100-plus). If you order cable tags against schedules, register your interest and tell us your typical quantities — schedule imports will work the same way they do in our label cost calculator.

Do you do traffolyte labels now?

Yes. Traffolyte (engraving laminate) is our standard material today, available in a full range of colours and sizes with instant online pricing and no minimum order. See our traffolyte labels page, or jump straight into the label designer.
