Board work in Brisbane
Solar and battery boards, new-estate meter panels, and SEQ fit-outs.
Brisbane and the wider south-east generate more supply-side board labelling than anywhere else we ship to. Every solar or battery install adds labels the board did not have when it was built: multiple supplies warnings, inverter supply identification at the main switch, and a shutdown procedure on the door. That is a label set, not a single sticker, and it is the part most likely to be missing when the board is inspected.
Alongside that is straight commercial work — fit-out DB schedules through the CBD, Fortitude Valley, and the industrial corridors out to Ipswich. Brisbane is same-state freight from the Townsville workshop, so board sets land in 1–2 business days after dispatch rather than the week an interstate supplier needs.

“Great service and communication”
“Hi recently had solar panels installed, but the installer did a messy job on my switchboard. The moved all the switches around, but didn't move any of the existing labels, and the new labels were just label maker and the terminology was non complaint (failed and Office of the Technical Regulator audit). I took it on myself to get professionally laser cut labels to replace the dodgy label maker/hand written and non-compliant language. RBZ3D was easy to use to make all the labels I need, shipped quick enough, and now the labels look so much better. Would definitely recommend and use again.”
“Treff labels supplied as requested, great job thank you”
On the escutcheon
The boards we label in Brisbane.
Every set is engraved to your schedule and sorted so it can be fitted in order — one board or a whole site.
Boards with solar or battery
Main switch grid supply and main switch inverter supply labels, multiple supplies warnings in yellow, and a shutdown procedure sign for the board door — the full set an inverter added to an existing board calls for.
Isolator identification
DC and AC isolator labels engraved to standard colour conventions, legible enough to photograph for install evidence and permanent enough to still be legible at the next inspection.
New-estate meter panels
Meter panel and board identification for volume residential work across Logan, Ipswich, and the northern corridor — repeat sets ordered per house or per stage.
Commercial fit-out schedules
Complete circuit schedules, main switch labels, and RCD identification for retail, hospitality, and office boards through Brisbane and the Gold and Sunshine Coasts.
Sub-board and DB naming
DB-01, MSB, sub-board and changeover references engraved as a matched set so every board in the building reads the same way.

Standards framing
Straight about what a label can claim.
AS/NZS 3000 clause 2.8 asks that switchboard labelling be permanent, legible for the life of the installation, and clear about which circuit and equipment each label identifies. Engraved traffolyte meets the durability and permanence requirements of that clause, because the text is cut into the material rather than printed onto it — there is no ink to fade and no film to lift.
Solar and battery — the one place testing is required
Solar goes further than AS/NZS 3000. The Clean Energy Council’s Advice on Labelling (Version 2, June 2023) requires any label exposed to direct sunlight to be UV resistant, demonstrated by passing IEC 60068-2-5:2018 — a 720-hour accelerated weathering test.
Section 3.1.1 of that document carries an exception: it does not apply to markings that are physically engraved, embossed or etched with durable markings. Engraving is exempt because the marking is the material — there is no printed surface to fade.
The practical difference: a printed or vinyl label in direct sun needs that test report to show it meets the requirement. An engraved one doesn’t. If your supplier can’t produce the report, you can’t demonstrate the label complies.

- ·That the material is “certified” or “approved”. There is no certification scheme for engraving laminate and no inspector approval scheme for labels. A supplier using those words is selling you a word.
- ·That a label makes an installation compliant. Compliance is the installation, the documentation and the person who signed it — a label is one durable part of that.
- ·What your board should say. Josh holds an electrical licence and is happy to talk it through, but the wording call belongs to whoever is responsible for the job.
Common questions
Quick answers.
What labels does a Brisbane board with solar added need?
The board typically gains supply-side identification it did not have when it was built: a main switch grid supply label, a main switch inverter supply label, a yellow multiple supplies warning, and a shutdown procedure for the door — plus DC and AC isolator labels at the isolators themselves. The designer has that set as a template so you can price it in one go.
How fast can switchboard labels reach a Brisbane site?
Production is 1–3 business days once the artwork is confirmed, then Brisbane is same-state freight — typically 2–4 business days on tracked post, and around 1–2 on express when the install date is fixed. Those are Australia Post's typical windows rather than a guarantee; Priority Air is the most consistent lane if the date cannot move.
What does AS/NZS 3000 require on a Brisbane switchboard?
Clause 2.8 of the Wiring Rules deals with identification: switchboard labelling has to be permanent, legible for the life of the installation, and clear about which circuit or equipment each label refers to. Engraved traffolyte satisfies all three by construction — the text is cut into the material rather than printed onto it, so there is nothing to fade, peel, or rub away.
How do I send a whole board schedule?
Use the bulk tool in the Label Designer — one row per label, paste or type the schedule, and every label is priced as you go. If you would rather not type it, send a photo of the board or a copy of the schedule through Quick Quote and it comes back priced within one business day.
Who makes them, and where?
Josh, a licensed electrician, on one CO2 laser in Townsville, Queensland. Every Brisbane order is engraved to order here, checked, and shipped tracked — no outsourcing, no reselling somebody else's labels.
