Board work in Geelong
Switchroom line-ups, terminal boards, and renewables switchgear.
Geelong's board work sits around heavy process and energy infrastructure. Refinery and fuel terminal switchrooms, port and wharf services, and the wind and solar projects spreading through the Golden Plains all run boards where the identification matters more than the aesthetics — a feeder that is not clearly identified is a feeder somebody has to trace before they can work on it.
The commercial side is fit-out and refurbishment through the CBD and the Bellarine growth areas. Both ends of that work order the same way: a schedule sent as a list, priced instantly, engraved as one run so nothing on the board is a different size to anything else.

“Great service and communication”
“Hi recently had solar panels installed, but the installer did a messy job on my switchboard. The moved all the switches around, but didn't move any of the existing labels, and the new labels were just label maker and the terminology was non complaint (failed and Office of the Technical Regulator audit). I took it on myself to get professionally laser cut labels to replace the dodgy label maker/hand written and non-compliant language. RBZ3D was easy to use to make all the labels I need, shipped quick enough, and now the labels look so much better. Would definitely recommend and use again.”
“Treff labels supplied as requested, great job thank you”
On the escutcheon
The boards we label in Geelong.
Every set is engraved to your schedule and sorted so it can be fitted in order — one board or a whole site.
Switchroom line-ups
Incomer, tie, and feeder identification across a switchroom line-up — engraved as one run so the whole board reads consistently rather than in three different fonts.
Terminal & refinery boards
Board identification and circuit labels for fuel terminal and process switchrooms, engraved so the text cannot be degraded by the atmosphere the board lives in.
Renewables & substation boards
Turbine, substation, and battery system board identification for wind and solar projects across the Golden Plains and Western District.
Port & wharf services boards
Distribution board identification for wharf infrastructure and marine services where the board door faces weather every day of its life.
Commercial fit-out schedules
Circuit schedules, main switch labels, and RCD identification for Geelong CBD and Bellarine commercial boards.

Standards framing
Straight about what a label can claim.
AS/NZS 3000 clause 2.8 asks that switchboard labelling be permanent, legible for the life of the installation, and clear about which circuit and equipment each label identifies. Engraved traffolyte meets the durability and permanence requirements of that clause, because the text is cut into the material rather than printed onto it — there is no ink to fade and no film to lift.
Solar and battery — the one place testing is required
Solar goes further than AS/NZS 3000. The Clean Energy Council’s Advice on Labelling (Version 2, June 2023) requires any label exposed to direct sunlight to be UV resistant, demonstrated by passing IEC 60068-2-5:2018 — a 720-hour accelerated weathering test.
Section 3.1.1 of that document carries an exception: it does not apply to markings that are physically engraved, embossed or etched with durable markings. Engraving is exempt because the marking is the material — there is no printed surface to fade.
The practical difference: a printed or vinyl label in direct sun needs that test report to show it meets the requirement. An engraved one doesn’t. If your supplier can’t produce the report, you can’t demonstrate the label complies.

- ·That the material is “certified” or “approved”. There is no certification scheme for engraving laminate and no inspector approval scheme for labels. A supplier using those words is selling you a word.
- ·That a label makes an installation compliant. Compliance is the installation, the documentation and the person who signed it — a label is one durable part of that.
- ·What your board should say. Josh holds an electrical licence and is happy to talk it through, but the wording call belongs to whoever is responsible for the job.
Common questions
Quick answers.
Can you label a full switchroom line-up in one order?
Yes — send the whole line-up as one schedule and it is engraved as a single run, which is the only reliable way to get identical sizing and font across every panel. Labels arrive sorted by board so they can be fitted in order.
How long do board labels take to reach Geelong?
Production is 1–3 business days after artwork is confirmed, then tracked post takes 3–6 business days to Geelong. Express brings transit down to around 2 business days when a handover or shutdown date is locked in.
What does AS/NZS 3000 require on a Geelong switchboard?
Clause 2.8 of the Wiring Rules deals with identification: switchboard labelling has to be permanent, legible for the life of the installation, and clear about which circuit or equipment each label refers to. Engraved traffolyte satisfies all three by construction — the text is cut into the material rather than printed onto it, so there is nothing to fade, peel, or rub away.
How do I send a whole board schedule?
Use the bulk tool in the Label Designer — one row per label, paste or type the schedule, and every label is priced as you go. If you would rather not type it, send a photo of the board or a copy of the schedule through Quick Quote and it comes back priced within one business day.
Who makes them, and where?
Josh, a licensed electrician, on one CO2 laser in Townsville, Queensland. Every Geelong order is engraved to order here, checked, and shipped tracked — no outsourcing, no reselling somebody else's labels.
